Costing School Based Anxiety/2

Dr Mara Violato and her team at the Health Economics Research Centre (HERC),University of Oxford, are involved in several research projects around school anxiety and attendance being conducted by the Experimental Psychology/Psychiatry team led by Professor Cathy Creswell. Dr Violato’s team are undertaking a literature review and analysing the data from UK longitudinal studies in order to establish what is known about the link between anxiety and school attendance, and the costs associated with an anxious child and the consequences of their anxiety. Whilst we are unable to instigate a research project focused on the specific costs of School Based Anxiety at this time, the work being done on these other projects will hopefully provide enough evidence to persuade others to look into this in more depth.
