Delighted to have been invited to present alongside Professor Tamsin Ford and Dr Polly Waite as part of Emerging Minds' Covid-19 range of webinars, supported by The Mental Elf. The focus was on the return to school post-lockdown and practical tips for supporting children with anxiety and those who might already have been struggling before Coronavirus. Unfortunately it's a complex problem, there are no quick fixes and the research on effective interventions is limited. Pushing through the fear will only work under certain conditions (with the right support, with the child's involvement, at their own pace etc.) and zero-tolerance policies don't help.
